What is the Harrisburg Board Game Alliance?

The Harrisburg Board Game Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community through the joy of board gaming. Our mission encompasses uniting board game enthusiasts, introducing newcomers to the hobby, and showcasing the cultural richness of urban living in Harrisburg and the surrounding Capital Region. We organize events and activities that bring people together, promoting friendship, strategy, and fun in a welcoming environment. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or just curious about board games, our Alliance offers a space to connect, play, and discover the diverse and engaging world of board gaming.

Are there any age restrictions for participating in events?

At the Harrisburg Board Game Alliance, we welcome children to our events, including the Harrisburg Board Game Day, with some guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. For children under 16, we require that they have contact information for a responsible adult readily available. While we are happy to have younger participants join in the fun, it is important to note that our volunteers are not responsible for babysitting or supervising minors. The responsible adult accompanying the child is expected to oversee their behavior and participation. Additionally, we ask that all children, regardless of age, adhere to appropriate behavior standards during games. If a child is unable to behave appropriately during a game, they may be asked to leave the game. These guidelines are in place to ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all attendees.
